Une soirée spéciale en hommage à Oliver Jones

You are cordially invited by The Union United Church to join us at the Montreal Art Center and Museum for a Tribute Evening to honour Little Burgundy’s own, Oliver Jones. Oliver has been closely connected to the Union United Church where he has been a lifetime member and had first performance at the age of 5.

Oliver Jones, born on September 11, 1934, in Montreal's Little Burgundy neighbourhood, captivated audiences from an early age with his exceptional musical abilities. Mastering the piano, he became a veteran jazz pianist whose name resonates with the finest aspects of the genre. Throughout his illustrious career, Oliver Jones explored various musical styles while maintaining a deep love for jazz. His captivating performances as a soloist, in duets, and in trios alongside jazz greats like Sarah Vaughan, Buddy Rich, and Tony Bennett established him as a true icon in the world of jazz. In recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the music industry, on May 18th, 2023 at the National Music Centre in Calgary, Oliver Jones was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. The CBC television presentation of the event will be shown to our guests on this special evening! The evening will feature a live performance by Skipper Dean who will cohost the event alongside the founder of the Montreal Art Center & Museum - Allan Diamond. In addition, complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served with a cash bar.
