Entre Terre et Ciel — Exhibition by Oana Itu

Between Earth and Sky explores the fragile yet powerful spaces where the human meets the sacred, where simple gestures become memory, and where faces become true living archives of time. In this exhibition, Oana Itu examines origins—our own, those of myth, and those of emotion—through a series of portraits that reveal both the weight of the earth and the vibration of light.

The faces of elderly people, bearers of tradition and roots, stand alongside sacred figures: mothers holding their children as if at the beginning of the world, and the primordial couple, Adam and Eve, depicted in deep blues, like a suspended genesis. The traditional Romanian blouse (ia), a texture of the native land, becomes an emotional landmark, a symbol of nostalgia and identity, while the characters’ gazes seem to search for meaning beyond the visible.
