À propos
GiggleFest is set to take place April 6-9, and will host over 25 shows and feature 80+ local (and international) artists at the Montreal Arts Centre & Museum and Lord William Pub in Montreal’s Griffintown. The festival aggregates existing independent comedy shows from all corners of Montreal, as well as new show conceptions like festival staples “Giggle Pro” and “Fresh Giggles” happening every night. This festival is the first of its kind in that it seeks to spotlight and elevate local English comedy producers AND artists with a business model that allows producers and comedians to see real profits for their art. Behind this endeavor are local comedian Michelle Forrester and Event and Marketing Manager, Gabriella Munro. This all-female duo has taken their respective industries by storm. With just three years under her belt, Michelle has brushed shoulders with the best making her Just for Laughs debut this past summer on ZooFest’s Discovery Series, JFL’s Best of the Fest, and recorded for the JFL Comedy Album “Heavy Petting Zoo.” Gabriella is an experienced marketer and event planner with over a decade of experience across multiple industries including tech, beauty, and telecommunications. In 2019, she produced an engaging thought leadership series with Insight Canada which featured esteemed guests including David Suzuki, Chris Hadfield, and Bianca Andreescu.

“What’s crazy is that we’re a city known for the behemoth that is JFL and yet when people come here (comics and audience alike), they have a hard time accessing English standup comedy. There are so many amazing independent shows that uplift overlooked talent. GiggleFest gives people centralized access to all of those shows and artists in four days.” - Michelle Forrester, GiggleFest Curator
