About the event
K-pop fans, let's talk movies!
Join Alyssia, leader of BTS Montreal, for an interactive dive into Korean cinema! From essential watches to hidden gems, we'll discuss the Korean wave, idols turned actors, film-inspired music videos, and recommendations based on your bias. Of course, this is a Film Club night, so stick around after the presentation for a mystery movie screening!
Alyssia Duval-Nguon is a cinephile and pop culture enthusiast whose work spans film criticism, communications, social media, and festival programming. She currently works at the National Film Board of Canada, and has collaborated with the Marché du Film at Cannes, the Fantasia International Film Festival, Montreal Comiccon, Anime Ottawa, and Asian Pop-Up Cinema. She is also the team leader of BTS Montreal, a volunteer-run fan club hosting events for the local ARMY community, and loves exploring connections between cinema, culture, and fandom.
