About the event
Gesture is the elusive quality that breathes life into figure drawing. A drawing with a strong sense of gesture captures the essence of motion, making the figure feel vibrant and dynamic rather than still and stiff.
Join us for an immersive workshop focused on mastering the art of gesture drawing, led by Elias Anatolios, a skilled instructor with a deep passion for both art and teaching. Elias studied drawing and painting at OCADU and has been hosting figure drawing sessions at the Montreal Art Center since 2021. His artistic practice is rooted in classical techniques dating back to the Renaissance masters, and he is dedicated to fostering a community of like-minded artists and students.
What You’ll Learn:
- The fundamentals of gesture drawing and how to capture the movement and energy of the figure.
- Techniques to use line and form effectively, infusing your drawings with life and emotion.
Workshop Details:
- Basic drawing materials will be provided, including paper, pencils, and erasers.
- Participants are welcome to experiment with different colors or textured paper; if you wish to do so, please bring your own materials.
This workshop is perfect for artists of all levels who wish to enhance their ability to convey movement and vitality in their figure drawings. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive and creative environment.
