The Englouti collection features 21 meticulously handcrafted silhouettes, showcasing a rich tapestry of textile arts techniques. Asymmetric by Design

The Englouti collection is presented in collaboration with Asymmetric by Design, founded by Tonya Dickenson. Tonya's passion for antique and vintage jewelry, which began during her childhood in Egypt, has inspired her to create unique, eco-friendly designs that tell a story. Combining her creative flair with her extensive business experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Tonya established Asymmetric by Design in Montreal. Her pieces are celebrated for their bold, stimulating beauty and their commitment to environmental responsibility, including detailed insights into the water and carbon savings of each design. Tonya’s innovative approach has earned her recognition as a finalist for the Montreal Fashion Week Coup de Cœur and the title of “Best Sustainable and Socially Responsible Jewelry Brand” by Lux Life magazine. Her work is proudly certified by Les Produits du Québec and endorsed by the Canada Council for the Arts.

Leading Montreal designers Richard Brophy and Marie-Joelle LeBlanc have brought together 17 Canadian master artisans to preserve the essence of textile arts within the fashion industry, advocating for a future of sustainable fashion. Under their creative direction, this couture collection has come to life over two years, defying the fast fashion norm and championing the need for skilled local artisans.

"These artists have pushed their practices beyond their creative journeys," says Brophy. "They’ve expanded the boundaries of their craft, uniting to produce a contemporary fashion collection." LeBlanc adds, "They are testing the limits of their art, integrating traditional textile techniques into wearable art."

Following its Montreal debut, the Englouti collection will embark on a national tour, with stops in St. John’s at the Craft Council Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador in April 2025, and a feature in the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum’s 2027 programming in Almonte, Ontario.
